In the ski area of Serfaus, a new 10-person monocable gondola was built in a very short time. The new Komperdellbahn with 2 sections will replace the 6-seater gondola of the same name after 34 years of service. This means that one of the ski area's most important feeder railways will be fundamentally modernized.
The new 10-person cabins from CWA in XXL format are particularly spacious, so that there is enough space inside for all equipment. Whether it's strollers and bikes in summer or skis and snowboards in winter - everything can be easily taken into the cabin. The wide door opening and the ground-level entrance make access even easier.
The first construction work, like at the middle station including the parksystem and line structures, began in 2022. In 2023, work was carried out at full speed on completion, which meant that an operating license was obtained at the beginning of December 2023.
The performance features of the system include: speed of up to 6.50 m/s with a travel time of around 7 minutes and a conveying capacity of 3,000 people per hour.
We were allowed to support the company with the elaboration of the safety report and the necessary specialist reports.
